#WeekendCoffeeShare

If we were having coffee, I would ask how your week was since I’m trying to work on my listening skills a bit. Then I would try to recap what I heard. I would almost certainly chat about my book on character and how it’s starting to take shape. I would talk about my blog and how I’m using it to see if anyone even cares about character. The results are a few people care enough to leave comments. A few more like the articles. I was able to extend my reach to large UK audience on Seumas Gallacher’s blog. He was kind enough to let me guest blog. My reblog of it is here.  Of course I would throw in the fact that I have registered a Twitter hashtag for #GotCharacter. This is a tag  for any tweets where someone is exhibiting good character and we want to share it. I always remind people to only point out weak or poor character in private. Nice chatting with you, I need another quadruple no-whip mocha. Ciao. Don’t forget to write your own coffee share and add it to the linky at Part Time Monster.

I love your new hashtag, that is a great idea. I see the other type of behavior on Twitter too often. : ( Maybe promoting people who show good behavior will help change that and encourage more people to show respect for others. Thanks for coffee.

I’m not sure why, but I giggled at, “If we were having coffee, I would ask how your week was since I’m trying to work on my listening skills a bit. Then I would try to recap what I heard.” I’m always trying to work on my listening skills. I often see listening as just waiting until it is my turn to talk again.

I love your are supporting good character via social media. Cool idea.

Thanks for stopping by! Listening is more than just waiting our turn. One must actively listen absorb what the other person was saying then we think about before we speak 🙂 easy to say not so easy to do until you start practicing.
