A-to-Z 2015 V is for Visit

Visit your family, friends and neighbors, it’s important. Grandma could not get out and travel very easily. Her arthritis made walking more than a few feet a challenge. She was over joyed when family friends and neighbors came to see her. It was the highlight of her day to just sit and “visit” with them. This meant catching up on all the family activities, births, deaths, marriages, etc. Thus she was able to live vicariously through others. Is there someone you know, a friend, neighbor or perhaps family that would really love for you stop by and visit?

You could always call and ask. I know dealing with close family.can be challenging but they are still family.

I just had a wonderful family visit. I went to N Carolina to visit my parents and stayed for nearly 4 weeks! My brother and sister-in-law also came and we got to spend a week together. i hadn’t seen them in over four years so that was a real treat. There is nothing more special than family and the time spent together, especially when living so far apart, is tonic for the soul. Good post here.

That’s what makes living the other side of the world from your family hard. Visiting for us means an expensive, 13 hour plane ride, jet lag, etc. We always make sure we go back every year though. I think visits mean even more to older people – I know when I went to visit my grandpa when I still lived in the UK, it made him so happy 🙂
