Friday Foto Fear

An image can do many things. It evokes an emotion. A photo drives home the point of a story. Sketches and drawings compliment the words in a marketing campaign. Some images might create confusion. Just like the written or spoken word, pictures are chosen and used with careful thought. This article begins a series of photos and thoughts. I hope you enjoy it enough to share with your friends and lend your thoughts to the discussion. Here is the first Friday Foto Fear.

Not to many things in this world evoke the fear that one feels when spotting a serpent. Is it the thought of fangs and venom? Or perhaps the cold touch of their scaly skin?  You can learn to control fear, but fear can be healthy. It keeps us away from high places with no railings. Being afraid of a gun pointed at you may prevent you getting shot. Fear of snakes helps reduce the chance of a poison bite or strangulation. Fear, in and of itself, is not bad.

What is fear?

According to dictionary.com, fear is:

a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

An irrational or imagined fear however, is one that makes our life hard to live. If you cannot go out and shop or get to and from work because you have a fear of people, that is not good. With practice and willpower you can train yourself to cut your fear to manageable level. I’m not a psychologist or in any way associated with the mental health profession. If you have fears that interfere with your daily life. Get help. You can improve your quality of life. It will not easy, but then few things in life worth having are easy.

What do you fear?

I’m linking to you in my post tomorrow.
Question: your ebook download in exchange for an email, is it a plugin? Which one? Is it free? Thanks,
    Janice
