Celebrate the simple things
Grandma celebrated every day. One of her favorite sayings was, “Any day above ground is a good day.” She instilled this spirit of thankfulness, celebration and gratitude in me. I am celebrating the New Year by working out with my dojo family at Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense. We start every year by working out and then performing O Soji. Japanese for big cleaning, it is a time to deep clean and repair the dojo.
Are there areas in your life that need an o soji? Look at the new year as an opportunity to start free. Make plans to improve just one small aspect of your life every day. Say “No” more often. Focus on what is important to you and your family.
