Whew, what a day. I actually had the day off for Veteran’s Day. It started off pretty rocky when I had to LOOSEN my belt buckle. What the heck???
Yes, I got up early and took Shawn to work and then drove over to the mall. It’s great that the mall is shaped like a car track. Each loop is a mile in length. They open the mall for walkers at 7:30 am. Surprising how many people get up and out of bed to walk in the morning. Trust me, if I didn’t have to take Shawn to work I’d have slept in.
First day really on my own without a routine while on the plan. It helped having errands planned out and meals planned. After reaching 10,000 steps I wandered to Wal-Mart, Whole Foods and Kroger’s. It was nice shopping for groceries without the usual crowds. Having a four day work week is sounding pretty good.
After running a few other errands stopped home and did laundry. While I waited I cooked up the Italian sausage and spicy Italian sausage from Whole Foods. The house smells incredible. In my wanders I found that JCPenney’s had Cuisinart sets on sale. Really on sale – 70% off. Picked Shawn up from work and headed back to JCPenney’s to pick out a set. Oh, and on top of the already great deal he got an additional discount for being a Veteran. Gotta love that man!
While at JCPenney’s we picked up a spiralizer (50% off). I figure Shawn will have us stop Sunday after the conference to get some zucchini. The zoodles on the front of the box look amazing. No, creating noodles out of zucchini or sweet potatoes never crossed my mind before starting The Whole30 program.
Shawn’s already opened the boxes, has all the pots and pans out and is washing them. Reminds me of a kid at Christmas!
So, Whole30 Day19 comes to a quiet end.
