A new twist to The Whole30 program this week is insomnia. For some reason 2:15, 3:30 and 4:15 are my new wake up times. It wouldn’t be so bad if I could fall back to sleep or if there was something really cool and interesting to think about. Nope, just awake to be awake. Needless to say Shawn falls asleep hopping into bed.
Morning walks aren’t as fun when your tired. Shawn drags me for our stroll, and I’m walking at a tortoise pace. We both manage to get our steps in for the day. Shawn has continued kenpo a couple times a week but I’ve dropped all exercises except walking.
Whole30 Day23 and I ate breakfast. Not sure why that meal is so difficult for me to get in each day. I think part of it is due to the fact I’m not awake. I checked The Whole30 website and they had some good advice to hopefully sleep better. If you’re interested, you can find it here.
The apartment smells really good in the evening when we cook applesauce. Our budget will love if when I can eat regular applesauce. Making it from scratch is great but pretty expensive. Our food budget has exploded since starting the plan.
Checking The Whole30 blog there are numerous comments about the amount of time food preparation takes on the program. Comparing our meals now with those in the past, I would have to agree. However, I was one that could grab a bag of chips and be good for lunch. Not a very nutritious routine.
Hopefully tomorrow won’t be such a long and unproductive day at work. Today was one of those days that just beats the life out of you. And being exhausted didn’t help. Lunches are ready and I know Shawn plans to walk.
Whole30 Day23 leaves us just 1 more week to go!
