Whole30 Home Stretch Last Weekend
Here we are in the Whole30 Home Stretch Last Weekend! Counting down to day 30. Woot! Day 26 and 27 have been good days. Teri and I ate out today (day 27) We stopped at Saltgrass Steak House. She had the sirloin and I had the steak kabob with grilled veggies. The waitress was really helpful and took the bread away and made helpful menu suggestions when we told her about being on the Whole30 diet.
I went to the dojo to teach and then for the adult class. A great workout was had by all. Then we took a trip to shop for kitchen gadgets, tools, etc. It was a most fruitful expedition. We found a really nice spatula, a microwave popcorn maker and nice ramekins to make custard and crème brûlée.

This week it’s more chicken and meatloaf. No bread crumbs for the meatloaf, so I tried a bit of almond flour. Stay tuned.
More stir fry using the coconut aminos instead of soy sauce and sneaking a little fresh ginger into the mix. Teri doesn’t like the ginger. It’s a bit spicy for her. I need to find a way to get the flavor and health benefits in without the bite that the fresh ginger has. Any thoughts?
We are lining up a Paleo bread recipe for Wednesday. This way we get bread, but don’t have to jump straight back into gluten. Somehow a pumpkin muffin recipe showed up in email box. Hmmmm. Guess I’ll need to back those as well.
We will probably drop off the grid for Thanksgiving, but we will continue to report back periodically (ok probably randomly 🙂
Only three more days! We are feeling great and think we want to keep our improved eating habits. We will still eat some of the Whole30 banned items, just a lot less of them.
