This is truly a treasure to humanity! Only absolute determination could have brought about such beauty. It is part of it’s surrounding…not separate.

It was truly breath taking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and the surrounding area. Most of the stone was carried up from the valley. I want to go back some day and spend more time. There is much to learn.

Thank you! Our guide was a native Quechuan, what most people call Incan. He told us that Inca in their language meant master. Not as in master and slave, but as in master of knowledge Most of the people that supported the intellectuals and the priest that actually lived at Machu Picchu lived in the valley below. It was an amazing and interesting place to visit. I want to go back. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

That’s nice information to know. I like that Inca means master of knowledge. It makes sense that all of the legends (if they are legends) of the Incas are about the tremendous knowledge of the universe they had.
